Paris
On January 10, 2019 by brian.haferkampWe are flying out of Paris on Monday and have hoped to spend a few days exploring the city center. Every time we tried to get a flight and hotel room in Paris some part didn’t work out. Last week we were finally able to get tickets to fly and a hotel room.
So today we left Lisbon and flew to Paris. We arrived safe and sound to our hotel room tonight and are looking forward to a good night’s sleep.
Today was a tiring day as we cleaned up the house we were staying in and packing. It was full, but we got out in good time and had a good flight–once we got on the plane. The airline overbooked the flight so they had to try and get us all onto the plane. After a half hour it all worked out, we made the flight, and we arrived safely.
Our drive to the hotel room took us right past Notre Dame and along the Seine. As we turned across the river we could see the Eiffel Tower lit up in all its glory. We’re hoping these are good days in the City of Lights.
It’s interesting how things work out. We thought the whole trip would be in Paris with a few days visiting our friends in Lisbon. It’s turned into just the opposite: a month in Lisbon with a few days in Paris.
So far it’s been a really amazing trip. Different than we planned a few months ago but really incredible!
